Church History:
The idea of forming a new church began with two couples meeting in October 1975. From there, a district meeting with the LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) was held, and a letter was presented to the Board of Elders of Trinity Lutheran Church. The project was approved on by the Trinity congregation, and the congregation was officially formed in September 1976, with a constitution and bylaws being adopted.
Shalom Society was formed, and worship services, Sunday School, and Adult Bible Class were held at Resurrection Catholic Church on Cannon Road. Pastor John Sievers was installed as Peace's first pastor in November 1976.
Ground was broken for the original church in January 1978. The cornerstone with a time capsule, was installed in October of the same year.
As the Peace church congregation continued to grow, a fellowship hall, classrooms, youth room, nursery, restrooms, and offices were added. The last addition to the building was the Life Center and Education wing, completed in March 1993.
Improvements are continually being made to the church building, including sound systems, parking lot paving, and connection to the city sewer system.
